Below is a collection of my Research Documents pertaining to my mixed media exploration of a recent body of work. Working with several multi-disciplinary departments within Virginia Commonwealth University, I used classical literature -specifically Franz Kafka’s Metamorphoses and Genesis within the Old Testament- as a catalyst to look inwards at my identity as an individual struggling with feelings of physical and conceptual inadequacy. My Avatar: The Roach, represents my experience within my development within the Undergraduate program as I grapple with the social isolation of the Covid era, and how the self-destructive compulsions I developed and maintain have affected my relationship with myself and others.
